With funds from PEN International, PEN Sierra Leone Centre is participating in series of online communication programmes.
The PEN Sierra Leone Centre has developed a website, a Facebook page, and a WhatsApp group. Literary competition targeting school children is a component of the project, as well as writing online magazine and creative writing workshops on zoom webinar conference.
Our presence in social media platforms increase our visibility globally and locally. We are now capable of undertaking online literary activities, like lectures, literary readings, writing competitions, on-line tutorials and interviews using some of the key social media platforms like Facebook, and WhatsApp.
We hope to increase interaction between the Centre and its membership as well as the public through online mechanisms as opposed to in-persons interactions.
Improved online communications skills of Core staff through acquiring the skills of using our website and the social media platforms to increase our prominence and interactions with members, partners and the wider public.
Increased general membership of the Centre and a greater awareness about PEN activities.
Expanded reading, writing, and debating activities beyond the school clubs to out-of-school children and the wider community.
