The implementation of the PEN School Club Reading Camp project aimed at keeping school children busy during holidays in their various communities.
The students are introduced and participated in the reading exercises, a great opportunity for them to engage themselves with books at a time when schools are closed nationwide.
Usually, during holidays, many students are left idle without specific focus as to what they should do. In such cases, many a time before the end of the holiday, some especially the girls are either made pregnant or forcefully married off at early age. Some of the boys drift off to work in the mines. The programme was designed to keep them focused during long vacations.
